Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Review:
Forgive me publishing companies, for I have sinned. I hadn't read this book until five years after it came out! And I COMPLETELY regret it.
If you have a craving for a vampire book, DEFINITELY read this one. This book is soooo amazing. One of the best books I've ever read. I think the reason why I liked it so much was because the romance wasn't too overbearing. It was mainly at the climax/end where it really shined through which was a break from some of the other books on the market where you're two words in and their already in love.
Richelle Mead described Rose's character very well and we got a good taste of her personality, but, Lissa was a bit dry. It might have just been because she wasn't the protagonist of the book and it wasn't written from her point of view, but I definitely think she could have done better.
Other than that, Richelle Mead did an amazing job writing this book. Snaps for writing awesome books *snap, snap, snap, snap*.
